Our curriculum is designed and delivered by industry experts who have made a mark in the world of screen & media makeup. At ACMUSE, you'll learn the latest techniques, from character makeup to prosthetics, and gain a deep understanding of how to adapt your skills to different mediums.

44 Weeks, Full-time – 38 weeks face-to-face study and 6 weeks term breaks (798 supervised hours)
3 days per week at College/full-time
The course is presented via face to face teaching, demonstration and practical exercises. Learners experience a simulated work places environment, with access to equipment, products and facilities reflecting industry practice. Out of college experience is available, but is not assessed as part of the course.

ACMUSE accepts students who are 16 and have completed year 10, there is no maximum age limit.
Students are not required to have an ATAR to attend ACMUSE.
Students who have not completed year 12 will need to complete an LLN test provided by the college prior to commencement. This tool is used to identify any supports a student might require.
To Apply to the CUA51020 Diploma of Screen and Media select the Enrol now Button and complete an application form. Once we have received your details a representative from ACMUSE will be in contact to book you in for a Free tour of our facilities and meet with our Principal.
This is an opportunity to have a look at the college and determine if ACMUSE is the right fit for you, and have any questions answered.
At ACMUSE we believe that you will learn the content within your Diploma and as a result we do not require you to have any prior Makeup knowledge to enrol in the Diploma of Screen and Media. Our trainers are highly skilled and can train you the best industry practice in this course.
You are not required to supply any images of previous works (unless you would like to) or audition for a position.
However ACMUSE can only accept a maximum of 25 students in the course per enrolment period. If the principal feels that ACMUSE is not the right fit for you, you will be informed immediately. If ACMUSE does not have a position available you will be put on a wait list for the next available course.

Mastery of Makeup Techniques: Students will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of fundamental makeup techniques, including foundation application, contouring, highlighting, eyeshadow blending, and lip artistry.
Special Effects Makeup: Students will acquire the skills to create impressive special effects, such as wounds, scars, aging, and fantasy character transformations, using prosthetics and other materials.
Professional Portfolio Development: By the end of the course, students will have developed a professional makeup portfolio showcasing their diverse range of skills and creative abilities.
Bald Cap Application: Students will learn how to construct and apply bald caps flawlessly, enabling them to transform actors into bald characters or create unique makeup looks.
Makeup for Different Media: Graduates will be proficient in adapting makeup techniques for various media, including film, television, theater, photography, and fashion shows.
Color Theory and Makeup Artistry: Students will comprehend color theory principles and effectively apply them to achieve harmonious and impactful makeup looks.
Client Communication and Collaboration: Learners will develop strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to understand clients’ needs and work collaboratively with other professionals in the industry.
Hygiene and Safety Practices: Students will be trained in maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety in makeup application, ensuring the well-being of their clients and themselves.
Professional Ethics and Industry Awareness: Students will be educated on the ethical considerations within the makeup industry, promoting responsible and respectful conduct throughout their careers.
Time Management and Efficiency: Learners will develop strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure to meet tight deadlines during various makeup assignments.

Ongoing assessment based on training package assessment criteria. There are three clustered assessment points: one is week one, a mid year assessment in week 20 and a final assessment at the end of the year – practical and theoretical examination.
All practical Assessments are photographed in the ACMUSE photo studio to add to your portfolio.
