ACMUSE

From 1st January 2023, ACMUSE (RTO ID 90910) has been approved to offer qualifications under Smart and Skilled Smart and Skilled Targeted Priorities Full Qualifications Program Fee Free*. (eligibility criteria and fees will apply)

Smart and Skilled is a reform of the NSW Vocational Education and Training (VET) system.This training is subsidised by the NSW Government’ and offers people the chance to gain the skills they need to get a job and advance their careers. 

To be eligible are you:

  • 15 years old or over?
  • no longer at school?
  • living or working in NSW?
  • an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen?

If you answered ‘Yes’ to all four questions, then you’re eligible to enrol in a government-subsidised course with ACMUSE and apply for training subsidised under Smart and Skilled.

ACMUSE is approved to deliver the following qualifications:

 

CUA41020      Certificate IV in Screen and Media

CUA51020      Diploma of Screen and Media (Specialist Make-up Services)

CUA60620      Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media (Specialist Make-up Services)

Prospective students who may be eligible to receive Subsidised Training under Smart and Skilled are required to have an interview with the CEO. To make an interview, contact the College on 02 9518 8003 or email administration@makeupcollege.com.au.

Prior to enrolling please read the following information to determine your eligibility as well as to be informed of the Smart and Skilled requirements. This includes:

    Unique Student Identifier:

    As a condition of your enrolment you are required to give ACMUSE your Unique Student Identifier (USI) (see below).

To be eligible for training for any Smart and Skilled program, you must:

  • Be an Australian citizen, a permanent Australian resident, a humanitarian visa holder or a New Zealand citizen
  • Be aged 15 years or older
  • Live or work in NSW
  • No longer be at school*

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who do not live or work in NSW but live in specific defined interstate NSW border areas are eligible for government-subsidised training under Smart and Skilled.

To assist in our assessing your eligibility we will need you to complete:

  1. Your completed Consent Form
  2. Your USI number. If you do not already have a USI ACMUSE may, with your consent, apply for your USI or you may apply direct by visitingusi.gov.au.

*Individuals must have left school (whether by school education, an alternative pathway, or home-schooling).

To be eligible for an exemption students must:

  • meet the above program eligibility requirements, and
  • be an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, or
  • have a disability

To be eligible for concession students must:

  • meet the above program eligibility requirements, and
  • be receiving a specified Commonwealth benefit or allowance or be a dependant of someone receiving a Commonwealth benefit or allowance at the time of enrolment

Fees apply for your selected program. The fee amount you pay and the government contribution is dependent on your eligibility.

 

Fees have been set by the NSW Government for training providers and ACMUSE must charge the student as determined from the data you have provided to us. Depending on your eligibility you may be charged the Standard Student – First Qualification fee, Standard Student – Subsequent Qualification fee or Concession fee for disadvantaged students.

 

If you are an Australian Government welfare recipient we will need documentation from you that will assist us in calculating your Fee.

If you apply for Recognition of Prior Learning or Credit Transfer the qualification price will be adjusted and a new student fee will be determined.

 

Incidental fees:

 

A make-up kit is required for your study in the the Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma. This is an additional cost to the student enrolment fee. The Certificate IV Make-up Kit is $800 and the Diploma Kit and Advanced Diploma is $3000.

 

An initial deposit is required on enrolment, plus the cost of the kit for your course.

You are eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT). Should your application for RPL and or CT be approved by ACMUSE, following the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015 and the NSW Recognition Framework, the outcomes will be entered to determine any reduction in the course Fee.

 

RPL is an assessment process assessing your competence against the competency standards you seek recognition for with the provision of evidence. Please contact ACMUSE if you wish to apply for RPL prior to enrolling.

 

CT applies when you can provide a Certificate, Statement of Attainment or transcript that has recorded the same unit code and title of a unit included in the enrolled course. You will be asked to provide a copy of your document, which has been witnessed by a JP as having sighted the original, as evidence of your seeking CT. Please contact ACMUSE if you wish to apply for CT prior to enrolling.

If you wish to defer your course you may do so for up to 12 months from when we have received notification from you. It is hoped that you should not need to discontinue your course. If you wish to discontinue your course we ask that you inform ACMUSE in writing. Any refunds owing please refer to our Refund Policy.

For all approved Smart and Skilled qualifications ACMUSE requires your consent for the Department of Education and Communities (the Department) to be given your Personal Information that may also be disclosed to other Australian government agencies. You will be asked to complete a Consent to use and disclosure of Personal Information to the Department of Education and Communities and other Government Agencies form. 

 

With your Personal Information and details of your proposed course, including details of any Credit Transfers or Recognition of Prior Learning, ACMUSE will be able to calculate and notify you of your fee contribution prior to you deciding whether to enrol.
