When did you graduate from ACMUSE?

In 2010

What was your first job after Graduating?

Assisting on Underbelly Razor, which was a huge job to start out with, fast tv with period hair and makeup. Baptism by fire!

What has been your Favourite Makeup Job?

I think my favourite job so far has probably been the film “Gold” starring Zac Efron. It was such a challenging job in terms of the conditions we were up against (shooting 6 days a week in the desert in summer) but everyone pulled together as a team. We managed to have so much fun on and off set whilst still delivering work that we were really proud of.

What has been your biggest achievement as a Makeup Artist?

Being a part of the team on Ladies In Black, we won the AACTA award for best makeup so that is definitely a career highlight. Although just getting a message from an actor telling you how happy they are with your work is also priceless.

What is one of your fave ACMUSE memories?

Any memory with Netty in it is a fav. She has shaped the next generation of artists, and I feel so lucky to of had her guidance throughout the years.

What advice would you have for anyone wanting to become a makeup artist??

Do it! It’s harder work than most expect but getting to be creative at work every day is the absolute best.

When did you graduate from ACMUSE?

At the end of 2006.

What have you been up to since graduating? How did you get there?

In 2007 I went to hairdressing college for a year. While working there I worked at the Sydney opera house working on opera shows. At the end of 2007 I landed a job at Channel Nine Sydney and have been there for 15 years. I work mainly on Today Show. I have worked on the TV Week Logie awards for 13 years total. In my 17 yr career I have also freelanced working mainly in Bridal.

What was your favourite memory from your time at ACMUSE?

There's too many fave memories to just choose one. My best memory was winning best and fairest at graduation for my work in the end of year final assessment. Also listening to stories from Netty's film career. Definitely doing hilarious character makeup and photo sessions in the studio with Rachael Montgomery.

Do you have any advice for anyone considering coming to ACMUSE?

Go with your gut. If your gut tells you ACMUSE. You wont regret it for a second!

When did you graduate from ACMUSE?

At the end of 2016. I was the 2nd Oldest Student!

Did you find it difficult coming back to study as a Mature Age Student?

It was certainly a challenge. My children were completing year 10 and Year 12. So we were all doing assessments together. As a hairdresser I didn't know how to use a computer very well. Luckily I had lots of support from my husband as well as the trainers at ACMUSE.

What have you been up to since graduating?

Since Graduating and while at college I did a lot of Work Experience Provided by ACMUSE. I got to be involved on Shows like Cleverman and Love Child. I was even asked to be an intern on the Film Ladies in Black, which won an AACTA award for Best Make-up. I then went on to do additional days on Films like Shang Chi and Thor Love and Thunder as well as The TV series Back the Rafters. I have been recently been a Full time Makeup Assistant For Television Shows like Amazing Grace, The Secrets She Keeps and Love you Like That.

Why did you choose to become a Makeup Artist?

I have to say that since I was 19 years old I have wanted to be a Makeup Artist. I took a while to get here, but taking the plunge has changed my life for the better.

Is it Hard to become a Makeup Artist when you are Older?

Being an older Makeup Assistant definitely had it's advantages. As I already have work and life experience it helped me navigate the industry. Often my boss has been younger than me, but the film Industry is so diverse that it's not uncommon. I was definitely welcomed with open arms.

Why Did you Choose ACMUSE?

I chose ACMUSE as it had the best Industry work experience in all aspects of Makeup.
